If you are lucky enough to have received a diamond ring for engagement or just a gift or are considering purchasing one for someone then it is worth looking into insuring such a precious stone.

Many people forget the importance of insuring a diamond ring, what can be worse than falling in love with a ring and something happening to it, whether it is lost or damaged if the ring is not insured then the costs will have to be forfeited by the owner, If the diamond ring was expensive then you may find your self in a situation where you simply can not afford to replace or repair the ring.

Diamond ring insurance is not as simple as you may think, most insurance companies will not just cover the item on your normal policy, some may cover jewelry for theft but not for other circumstances where by the diamond ring has become lost or damaged.

Most insurance companies will allow you to purchase additional insurance for fine jewelry and your diamond ring however there are a few questions you should ask before taking out this addition to your existing policy.

1st and most importantly you will want to know how much the insurance will cost. It is also wise to ask how this will affect your policy should you need to make a claim for your diamond ring.

2nd ask if an appraisal needed to cover your diamond ring and if so would these need to be provided by yourself by specific appraiser or will your insurance company take care of this for you.

3rd ask if the diamond ring be covered for its full value or replacement cost and will this be in the form of a cash sum where by you would purchase the replacement ring yourself or will the insurance company replace the diamond ring themselves and send to you.

4th check if the diamond ring be covered wherever the damage or loss takes place, some insurance companies will only cover loss or damage within your own company so additional travel insurance may be needed if you were to go abroad.

5th will the insurance cover all repairs on the diamond ring and who will make any repair to the ring, some insurance companies have their own tradesmen who would make any repairs needed other insurance companies will ask for several estimates provided by yourself before you can go ahead and get the diamond ring repaired.

6th always ask about excess, this is a sum of money you will pay before anything is repaired or replaced, this is normally ascertained by the value of the ring, it is a very important aspect of insurance, you may find small repairs can be done without going through your insurance, some cases will show that it simply is not worth paying the excess to replace or repair your diamond ring depending on the excess figure.

Diamond ring insurance may sound daunting but it need not be, knowing what to ask and knowing the facts always helps.

By: Vicki Churchill

If you are a small information technology (IT) business and finding it hard to get contractors to work with your company, maybe you are overlooking the importance of verified liability insurance. Having business insurance can really add a level of professionalism and ease tension when getting work from outside contractors.

Let Them Know You Trust Their Abilities

Let’s face it, no one wants to work for a small IT company if they don’t respect their workers and offer coverage in dangerous or risky situations. Professional liability insurance makes contractors more comfortable because their skills are backed up by your company’s coverage. You basically instill confidence in contractors when you offer professional liability insurance.

Have Control of Any Detrimental Situation

In addition, if you hire a contractor, you both want to make sure things run smoothly. If something goes wrong, though, you want things to be under control. If the contractor looses client information or data, doesn’t show up, or there’s a system failure, your professional liability insurance will put all three parties (you, the contractor, and the client) at ease. It’s the perfect solution.

Verified Liability Insurance Eases Contractors By:

•	Instilling confidence in their work

•	Protecting them and you from injury or unsatisfactory service/product

•	Adding comfort for all parties involved

•	Building stronger trust between you and the contractor

•	Ensuring the project will run smoothly

•	Proving that your business is professional

Overview of General Liability Insurance

Most companies will find a general liability insurance package that lines up with their business operations. If you are a small IT business without many risky scenarios, general liability insurance is probably a great money-saving option. It will cover most accidents and, most importantly, cover destruction or theft to your computer’s software and hardware. General liability insurance covers almost everything related to bodily injury, property damage, products-completed operations, fire or explosion damage, and legal defense costs. There are also a ton of other options that usually come with general liability insurance.

Add Professional Liability Insurance to the Mix

While general liability insurance covers mostly physical damage or injury, professional liability insurance will cover you if a client claims financial loss due to your service or product. This is extremely important for your business if you are contracting work out. You never know when a little slip up will cause a catastrophe for your client. Get assistance from a professional broker to find a good insurance rate for your specific business. There are a wide range of options, so invest your time and money in finding the appropriate professional liability insurance to suit your specific needs.

Show Off Your Business’s Professionalism

A sense of professionalism really adds trust and will make your relationship with the contractor much stronger. Business insurance really proves that you are an honest business owner. If you can prove to contractors that you mean business and want to make sure all parties are covered in messy situations, they will be much more willing to work with you.

Make Negotiations Run Smoothly

Negotiations will also move along much quicker without conflict. There’s nothing worse than getting close to an agreement and then it falling through at the last minute, leaving you without a contractor. With liability insurance backing you up, it’s much more likely that you will reach an easy agreement with the contractor.

So start building your contractor relationships today and find insurance that will suit you and your company.

By: James Cochran

There are several requirements you must meet when obtaining any kind of insurance. Taking out term life insurance is no exception. For the most part, insurance companies want to make sure you start out healthy before issuing you a policy. Premiums are based on your lifestyle and what your medical history is like. The cost of your premium is based on your age, gender and even occupation. Tobacco use has always been of concern when you are applying for term life insurance .

Tobacco use in any form already sets you apart from non-users. Some insurance companies do not distinguish between the form and frequency of your tobacco use. If you are a person who smokes an occasional cigar you are treated the same as a person who smokes two or three packs of cigarettes per day. Despite this unfair categorization, there are some companies that do make the distinction. The key is to find these select insurance companies that individualize their rates. These select companies base their premiums upon the type of tobacco and frequency of usage. They make a clear distinction between the use of cigarettes, cigars, chewing tobacco, pipes, smokeless tobacco, nicotine gum, marijuana or a nicotine patch to quit your smoking habit. If you smoke marijuana, you must also disclose that you use drugs on your application form.

Lifestyle Discrimination?

While automatic higher premiums set for smokers are seemingly unfair and may even be viewed as lifestyle discrimination, it is also important to understand the perspective of insurance companies. Generally, smokers miss work more often than non-smokers due to respiratory problems. It is believed, although not clinically proven, that smoking lowers the immune system defenses, therefore causing smokers to be more susceptible to certain smoke related illnesses than non-smokers. Smoking has also always been believed to cause premature death. Ailments such as lung cancer, high blood pressure, heart attacks, emphysema, severe asthma, stroke, and other forms of cancer are all associated to nicotine use. Current studies have also found a connection between heavy tobacco use and Alzheimer’s disease. Certainly one can compare the consistent use of a known carcinogen to someone who is employed at a job considered to be “hazardous duty.” Both are subject to higher premiums due to higher risk for insurance companies to carry you.

Tobacco Use and Low Cost Term Life Insurance

If you are smoker who has tried to obtain term life insurance in the past, you have probably been disappointed by the high premiums quoted to you. In recent years some insurance companies have opted to offer low cost term life insurance for tobacco users. Smokers or nicotine users are now eligible for 10, 15, 20 or 30 year term periods at low rates. For example, as long as a smoker is in otherwise excellent health and is at a reasonable weight, he or she may obtain $250,000.00 worth of coverage for about $40 per month over a 10 year period.

The best thing to do would be to research out companies and their policies for tobacco users. By shopping out the different insurance companies, you are sure to find one that does not penalize you excessively for tobacco use. Doing an internet search is the fastest way to obtain a quote online as many companies are now doing “Insta-quotes” that only take minutes. Tobacco users can now afford to protect their families at much more affordable rates and doing due diligence in shopping out your quotes will save you money in the long run.

By: Sharon Taylor

Many people rarely consider the need for professional group fitness instructor liability insurance. It makes sense, however, that in our litigious society precautions should be taken to ensure that those who choose to earn their living as a fitness instructor are protected against legal damages, whether the charges are warranted or not. Most insurance companies will cover actual fitness facilities as well as their employees up to a certain limit and under certain conditions; however it may be only the lowest coverage possible with certain exclusions and conditions. If you are an independent fitness instructor, or even working full time for a fitness facility, it is vital that you consider protecting yourself with a group fitness instructor liability insurance policy.

What is Group Fitness Instructor Liability Insurance?

Group fitness instructor liability insurance protects physical fitness instructors against damages incurred or legal actions brought about by claimants as a result of the instructor’s training duties.

Common reasons for litigation against instructors include:

• Muscle injuries
• Joint injuries
• Back injuries
• Broken bones
• Bruised bones

Most group fitness instructor liability insurance policies will cover the common causes or hazards that can occur during training and result in the losses mentioned above. Common claims include:

• Injury as a result of poor supervision
• Injury as a result of poor training technique and education
• Injury as a result of overtraining
• Injury as a result of lack of adequate stretching or cool down periods

People can also claim mental damages, stress, or humiliation. For this reason it is extremely important that your group fitness instructor liability insurance policy gives you the most specific and comprehensive coverage possible. Although certain endorsements (additional coverage) may add to the total premium that you pay each year, in the end it will be well worth it. Too many frivolous lawsuits are settled in favor of the plaintiff to warrant gambling with your coverage amounts and limits.

Limits of Coverage

As for the limits of coverage, most insurance companies will offer a basic policy with an aggregate limit of $500,000, $1,000,000 or $2,000,000. They may also have a per occurrence limit that is significantly less than the total policy limit. It is important to understand this distinction because if your policy limit is $1,000,000 but your per occurrence limit is only $100,000, this means you are responsible for paying any monies owed to the other party that exceed the $100,000 limit. For example, if the judgment against you is $150,000 and the per occurrence limit is $100,000, you will be responsible for paying the remaining $50,000 out of pocket. If you do not have the $50,000 in cash or savings immediately available for payment, wage garnishment and even asset liquidation can occur.

Conclusion

When considering a group fitness instructor liability insurance policy, remember that it is always best to be over insured and not need it than to be underinsured and end up with a large debt that you will have to end paying for the rest of your life.

By: Ian Pennington

People are not as stupid as they used to be. The hard sell no longer works. People understand the sales process better and they demand value for their money. The Internet age is taking its toll on the dinosaurs who are still in the information age and think that sales is a numbers game. The world is now in the communication age and sales are on auto-pilot.

Thankfully for everyone else in the business of offering consumers investment options, insurance agents are being trained the same way in this post-Internet period as they were in the pre-Internet period. The Internet has changed the game drastically and so too the insurance industry needs to change drastically if it is to survive.

At many insurance companies the recruitment and training process remains obsolete. Trainees are told that for every no they get, a yes draws closer. They are told that they need to develop tough skin and be prepared for any rough treatment that may come their way. The truth that fortunately they don’t seem to know yet is that bad treatment is a symptom of a poor sales strategy.

The insurance agent who applies traditional sales tactics on the most non-traditional sales prospects – which most people with buying power are fast becoming thanks to the Internet – will meet with bitter rejection. A “no” is bad in itself but the type of disdain that will make the prospect never want to buy anything of any kind from the seller again will also sink in.

People know that when they are asked about their families, birthdays and to hand over other “joyful” information, the sales person is just collecting data that would help the seller to sell. In most circles that would be viewed as despicably low. Offering to perform oral sex on the prospect might yield better results.

The new and only way to effectively sell anything in this day and age is to set up a system that allows people to buy preferably automatically. This does not have to be an e-commerce store although that would indeed help. The secret is to make one’s offer easy to find and aim to be at the top of the search results. This does not necessarily have anything to do with search engines. Looking at the bigger picture, what it means is that buyers – potential customers – are now in pull mode. One needs to find out where they are looking and place oneself there attractively but unobtrusively.

By: Aleem Khan

Insurance brokers are essentially insurance professionals that are independent of any particular insurance company and therefore able to sell many types of insurance from several insurance companies. They are able to assist both individuals and other clients to locate insurance that meets their needs and at the best price. As they work with many insurance companies they are not bound by a sense of loyalty to any particular company. They are able to keep in mind the best deal for their customers.

The insurance brokers will often have a range of insurance services available and will often offer coverage for specialized circumstances not covered by normal insurance agents. They can offer all types of insurance including automobile, health, property and many others too numerous to mention. They will have options available for workman’s compensation and even for companies that are into manufacturing and require specialized coverage for the chemicals they utilize.

It is the duty of the insurance broker to calculate premiums and to secure coverage for the client. They must also establish a method for the payment of premiums by the client. Provision of information such as group and individual insurance packages, risk coverage and benefits must be done as this is important information for the client to be aware off.

It is the responsibility of the broker to ensure that the paperwork and legalities of the policy are handled in the right way and that this is completed efficiently. They have to ensure that all forms are properly completed and that medical examinations are carried out and the requirements of the policy being purchased are met by the client. The insurance broker also has to track the claims made by the client and to maintain contact with the client to resolve uncertainties and to answer any questions or queries. It is important that a broker has a certain level of education and that the broker is trained in the insurance business so that they are efficiently able to attend to the needs of the client.

The insurance broker is able, due to there independent nature, to locate the best deal for their clients. They are able to source the best coverage for their clients at the lowest premiums available as they are able to compare between providers. It is necessary however that clients of insurance brokers investigate and ensure that the broker they are considering using is indeed independent and reputable. There are many reliable brokers but there are some that will recommend companies that are not reputable for a good commission.

It is important that you are affiliated with an insurance broker that is licensed to provide insurance brokerage services. This can provide the added confidence necessary in a broker. The license means essentially that they are regulated by an independent body that ensures that they are following good practices and not fraudulently misleading the public. This is a good to look for and can provide an added safety but still make sure that you do research and ensure for yourself that you are getting the best deal from your insurance broker.

By: Martin Lukac

Regardless of the services or items you are searching for, if you are like most people in this country, you are probably looking for a good deal. This is the case for insurance as well. The question that should come to mind is, how to find low cost insurance. It is actually easier to find than you might think. Most people, whether they are searching for automobile insurance, life insurance, dental insurance, motorcycle insurance, or what have you, believe the insurance they currently have is the best coverage for the money they are paying.

However, that is the furthest from the truth. You might be faithful to your well-trusted insurance broker, and you might think you are doing that agent a favor, but you also may not be benefiting from the cheapest insurance available.

Therefore, it is up to you as a consumer to get motivated, and search for it on your own. On-line searching will save you incredible amounts of money.

This may be difficult for some people to believe, but it is true. Finding low cost insurance can be found in multiple ways. You could take the call approach and ask to speak to an insurance representative. This way will take about 20 to 30 minutes of your time to receive a quote in this manner.

Doing a search on-line is by far the best way. All that you need to do is, in the search bar of your search engine, type in your key phrase, and a list of insurance providers in your town will be consolidated. Then click on the individual insurance corporations one at a time. You could also try doing a search by simply searching for websites that are completely committed to comparing various insurance companies.

The ball is in your court. The choice is yours, regardless of the way you to decide to search for low cost insurance. There is not a wrong way to find lower cost insurance. Searching on-line will save you more time, than if you made a time-consuming phone call.

Saving lots of money is a huge payoff, when you search for an on-line insurance company to insure your goods. Were you aware you can keep the same insurance coverage you have, for less money? Rather than giving your money away to insurance companies, you can surely find other places to wisely spend your money.

In addition, you will also learn more about the industry, which will assist you in making more wise decisions for your coverage. These are the missing links that are often overlooked by consumers, which can cost thousands of dollars in unwanted fees for years to come. For example, did you know there are professionals that receive discounts because they are a professional?

As a driver, there are different savings that you may benefit from. For instance, besides being a professional, you may also be protecting your car or home with sophisticated alarms, have an excellent driving record, have a car that you only drive on the weekends, just to name a few. In addition to that, if you increase your deductible, you will be benefit from reduced insurance costs.

You can save on all types of insurance in many ways. The best way is to read as much as you can on the topic and industry you are researching. With that said, be sure you read all the fine print before deciding to sign a contract. This will prevent penalties if you decide to cancel your existing policy.

By: Kimberly Kochera

If you are having a problem getting pregnant and want to see a specialist then you may know how much that can cost. Most infertility clinics have financial counselors that can help you get the help you need to cover costs. If you have some insurance but think you need more you can purchase supplement insurances that will cover what your insurance does not cover. With expensive drugs and procedures and virtually no coverage available under basic health insurance plans, paying for medical treatments can be an enormous struggle for many infertile Americans.

Only a handful of states require employers and insurance companies to offer some kind of infertility insurance. Yet across the country, advocates for the infertile say excluding their condition from insurance plans amounts to discrimination. They want the government to step in.

Is it fair that only the people with money can afford infertility procedures? There are no standards to follow so the coverage varies from state to state. Depending on where you live, you may or may not be covered. This does not really seem fair and for many of us who really want a baby can be frustrating and even sometime heartbreaking. Not only may your insurance not cover the procedures but your place of employment may not recognize or validate you leave time.

What Do We Do
One thing that needs to be done is to contact your insurance company and see what they cover. Go online or contact your local infertility clinic or hospital and talk to an insurance specialist to see if they can help. Many times they will know of a company that they are affiliated with that will help you. Go online, research insurance companies, and supplement infertility insurance. Many times you can find information or contact number where you can contact and get the information you need right then and there. Do not give up.

Having a baby is a dream for the two of you and you do not have to let the system win. There are people and insurance companies out there that will help you. There are also financial counselors out there that can answer all of your questions and concerns. Talk to your doctor, he or she may also be able to help.

Support
When dealing with infertility you need to support each other. You will need the support of any one else close to you such as parents and other family members. You will also be connected to a counselor to voice your concerns and ask questions. Utilize those tools and have then help you get the information you need to have a successful pregnancy.

By: Wade Robins

If you could actually see a published rate chart for an insurance company you might be able to tell if you are getting a discount. With the number of variables that come into play – your credit rating, where you live, how much of each kind of coverage, how many miles you drive each year, what kind of car you drive, how many traffic violations you have and how many accidents you have had in the last five years, how can their be a set rate chart? How can you find auto insurance discounters?

Progressive Insurance Company has made an entire ad campaign about how they discount your auto, marine, home and motorcycle insurance. Their spokeswoman has become a celebrity in her own right. On their website they will show you if another company has a lower premium on the coverage you are trying to get with Progressive.

True discounts can only come after your rate has been determined. If you are a new driver and have taken a certified driver’s training course then you will get a certain percentage off your quoted rate. Nationwide insurance offers up to fifteen percent off if your student maintains a B average through the school year.

Conventional advice has said that if you have both your home owner’s and auto policies with the same insurance company you get a discount on both. With the way rates are changing and going up it will be worth your while to shop around for separate quotes on both to see what you might be able to save. You will find that some companies have much better prices on auto insurance and others have better pricing on home owner’s insurance. If the difference in the individual policies is great enough you can save by going with two different insurance companies.

You will also save money if you have more than one car on your policy instead of insuring them separately. The only problem you may run into is if your insurance company wants you to maintain the same coverage on all vehicles to get the discount. Do not accept this and go to another insurance company especially if you have vehicles that are a great difference in age. If you own a vehicle outright you may only want to have liability insurance on it especially if you have a young driver to keep your overall vehicle costs down.

If an insurance company claims to be one of the auto insurance discounters make sure that you check out their financial stability by asking them about their AM Best rating. If they are not at least rated B++ you really need to think twice about buying any insurance from them. The best way to find auto insurance discounters is to go to a site like insureweb.com, esurance.com and others to check the various rates and compare policies to get the biggest discount you can. Make sure you check out the insurance rating on the vehicle you expect to buy. Some vehicles within the same categories cost nearly twice as much to insure because of their theft rate or how badly they suffer in crash tests. If the model you like costs to much to insure look for a comparable model from another manufacturer.

By: Mark Alison

If you currently live in Missouri or you’re planning to move there, auto insurance is something you’ll definitely consider if you plan on owning an automobile. Auto insurance covers you in case you cause damage to any person’s property or body, and it is absolutely required in order to register and drive any vehicle.

Each state has its own laws and regulations when it comes to auto insurance, so it might be a good idea to visit Missouri’s Department of Motor Vehicles website to get full details of exactly what you need. In general though, there is a minimum liability insurance that you need to be covered for. In the State of Missouri, this is as follows: $25,000 minimum coverage for bodily injury per person, $50,000 minimum coverage for each accident, and $10,000 minimum property coverage f or each accident. It’s good to know this information when shopping around for car insurance so you’re better informed and can get the policy that’s best for you.

Liability insurance, which is manditory in Missouri, does not cover the policy holder in the event of an accident. This type of insurance only covers third party drivers and property. To insure yourself and your own car, you should consider collision and comprehensive coverage. If you want even more peace of mind, you can opt for uninsured or underinsured driver insurance, which protects you in case someone hits your car and is uninsured or underinsured.

When searching for the best car insurance rates in Missouri, the best advice is to shop around and compare at least 5 different insurance companies. You might be surprised to see how much policy rates differ between different companies, even for same or similar coverage options. That’s why it’s important to shop around and compare multiple car insurance rates.

Even if you’re currently insured, you might be able to save hundreds of dollars a year by switching auto insurance providers. You can compare multiple quotes online in a matter of minutes, so you’ve got nothing to lose, however you could end up saving a lot.

The Missouri Insurance Information Service says more than 20,000 vehicles were reported stolen in 2008, nearly half of them in St. Louis and Kansas City. This would make sense considering these are two of the largest cities in the state, however this is bad news for residents of St. Louis and Kansas City as this means that they will probably be paying higher insurance rates due to the high auto crime rate. The five most commonly stolen vehicles in Missouri are the Dodge Intrepid, Ford Taurus, Pontiac Grand Prix, Dodge Stratus and Oldsmobile Cutlass, so you might want to avoid these cars to keep your car insurance rates as low as possible.

By: Samantha S
