Alabama auto insurance is compulsory in Alabama. Insurance coverage shelters you from unforeseen eventualities and expenses in an accident. Besides, Alabama auto insurance is a legal requirement for all Alabama drivers.

What is the Compulsory Insurance Coverage?

Alabama auto insurance provides compulsory coverage of bodily injury and property damage liabilities. Bodily injury liability is $20,000 for physical injuries per person in an accident, $40,000 for all physical injuries to all persons in an accident, and property damages coverage is $10,000 for an accident. Of course, these are minimum limits and it is best to have higher insurance limits for better coverage in case of any accident.

Why do I need auto insurance?

Alabama auto insurance protects you from accidents and associated expenses, but you need it more so to adhere to the state law. Lack of minimum liability insurance is illegal and wrong.

What is proof of my auto insurance?

Insurance companies provide you insurance card listing all details like your vehicle make, model number and year of purchase of vehicle, vehicle identification number, name of insurance company, name of insured, policy number with effective, and expiry dates of policy. Sometimes there are other proofs of your Alabama auto insurance like premium receipt, liability insurance policy, temporary insurance card, certificate of your insurance from your insurance company, copy of rental agreement mentioning insurance coverage, etc.

Need I carry insurance proof?

Yes, you need to carry proof of your Alabama auto insurance in your vehicle. You should be able to show it to law enforcement officers when asked for. If you do not possess insurance proof, you are guilty of improper conduct and face fines of $500. Repeated offense imposes stringent fines and suspension of your license.

What decides my insurance premium?

Auto insurance companies fix insurance rates according to overall driving habits of state drivers. It is an average of all necessary fees and exact insurance premium depends on further calculations like your age, vehicle type, place of residence, etc. You can get numerous quotes from different Alabama auto insurance companies and choose the most suitable insurance for your vehicle.

By: Austin Davis

When you need to get MO auto insurance you will need to make sure you are legally covered, in order to drive safely within the law. I wish to tell you about what you will need as a minimum as insurance cover requirements can vary from state to state across America.

You must firstly be able to show proof that you are able to cover any costs you may be liable for by showing your insurance policy meets the needs of Missouri. The first being that you must have bodily insurance liability cover of at least $25000 per person you wish to cover and $50000 per accident.

You will also need to be covered for any property that may be damaged as a result of an accident. One example of this is if you were to run into a mail box, a garden fence or similar, this would mean that neither you nor the owner of any property lost or damaged will be left out of pocket. The minimum you will need to be covered for is $10000.

You will also need to have uninsured motorist bodily liability insurance which will mean that if you are in a n accident and the person who hits you is not insured your medical costs will be covered. This insurance cover will have to be a minimum of $25000 per person you wish to cover and $50000 each accident.

The latter of getting insurance is to post a certificate proving that you have enough money to cover you and any others in the event of an accident, but this is something that is rarely done as it is easier and more cost effective to have insurance that covers you.

If you will not be driving your own vehicle when in Missouri and wish to lease, the insurance minimum requirements will differ slightly, meaning that you will need a minimum of $100000 per person and $300000 per accident in the way of bodily injury liability cover, property damage cover of $50000 and comprehensive and collision coverage which will vary depending on your leasing company.

Not being insured could mean that you are not only left out of pocket but are also liable to pay a major court fine, and be forced to pay from your own pocket any damages you are responsible for. You could even end up serving a jail sentence which is why you need to make sure you have the correct coverage and carry proof of such when ever you wish to drive in Missouri.

By: Felix Fassbinder

If you are looking for auto insurance in texas, you might want to check out golden rule insurance company who offers cheap auto insurance online. Of course there are plenty of other companies that also offer affordable rates, but first you should understand Texas auto insurance requirements.

Texas is a tort state, which means that the driver is financially responsible for any damage and injury they cause in an accident. Purchasing Texas Auto Insurance will fulfill this legal requirement.

Texas auto liability minimums are 20/40/15 which translates to $20,000 per person for injuries you cause to the other party to a total of $40,000 for all claims and up to $15,000 for damage you cause another persons property. These are the minimum requirements and it is recommended that you carry much higher levels of liability insurance.

In addition to required liability coverage, Texas drivers may choose to purchase coverage for some “first party benefits”. These include compensation for medical expenses, loss of income, and loss of services. These benefits apply to every accident regardless of fault.

Uninsured and underinsured motorist policies also cover your expenses, but these apply in the event that you are struck by a driver with inadequate liability insurance. These policies are not required, but they’re relatively inexpensive, and can provide a lot of protection.

Texas auto insurance companies will also offer optional policies such as collision and comprehensive coverages.
Be warned the mandatory requirements are way too low for the average cost of serious injuries and financial loss from an automobile accident. All insurance agents recommend you purchase much higher levels of liability insurance.

Auto insurance companies also offer optional coverage such as medical payments, collision, comprehensive, and uninsured and underinsured motorist’s bodily injury coverage.

How your insurance rates are set in Texas is different than many other states. The rates are determined by the behavior and accident rates of all Texasn drivers. The cost of insuring Texas drivers’ including settlements and legal fees is totaled for the entire state and divide it up between everyone.

Of course these costs are not spread around evenly. The percentage of these costs that you are going to pay is determined by things like your driving record, your age, where you live, and the kind of car you drive.

Not all insurance companies compute their figures the same way so a driver with the same profile can land up with different rates depending on the insurance company. That’s why it is so important to get several quotes before purchasing insurance.

As mentioned previously liability is the most important element of your entire insurance policy. Make sure you purchase adequate liability insurance to protect your assets, because within a split second, the time it takes for an accident to occur, your life could be left in financial ruin if you are not adequately covered.

There are also other coverages you can buy such as collision, comprehensive, rental, and even towing and road side assistance. You will need to determine what your personal needs are.

When comparing insurance make sure you compare equal policies. Make sure the deductibles are the same, that the exemptions or fine print reads the same and that the liability is for the same amount. It is important to compare policies of equal quality to make sure your cheapest quote truly is your cheapest quote.

In less than a half hour you can have all the quotes you need and be on your way to buying cheap Texas auto insurance. Why waste time? Get busy!

By: Sher Matsen
