As gas prices approach four dollars a gallon, many personal auto insurance policyholders find themselves in a particularly painful kind of trap: most states require citizens to maintain auto insurance. For example, Florida requires drivers to carry at least $10,000 of Florida auto insurance simply to maintain their license. As gas prices eat into family budgets, it can seem impossible to keep gas in your vehicles and auto insurance on your vehicles.

And it’s not just personal auto insurance customers; commercial auto insurance policyholders feel the same crunch. According to the U.S. Small Business Administration, firms with fewer than twenty employees can spend up to 45% more per employee to meet federal and state regulations. Some of those regulations, of course, set the minimal required amount of commercial auto insurance. In light of this information, what can personal and commercial auto insurance customers do to soften the blow?

First, drive safely-and let your insurance company know it. If you’ve been free of moving violations and accidents for the last three years, check to see if your auto insurance policy carries a safe driver discount.

Once you’re focused on driving safely, consider raising the deductible on your auto insurance policies. Although this means you’ll have to pay more in the event of an accident, doubling the deductible on your policy can save you 10% or more on your monthly premiums.

Next, check into moving your auto and homeowner’s insurance to the same provider. Many insurers offer discounts up to 10% for policyholders with multiple policies.

Finally, many auto insurance consumers aren’t aware that insurance companies have begun using credit scores as one factor in setting premiums; if your credit situation is better now than it was when you first acquired your auto insurance policy, make sure your insurer is aware of that fact, or shop your policy around for competitive rates.

By: Cory Waldron

Male drivers usually think that their female counterparts are no match to them when it comes to driving. This may be true, but auto insurance companies do not seem to agree with this view as research has shown that female car insurance policy holders pay less insurance premium than their male policy holders.

Reasons why females have lower auto insurance premium is of course not unconnected with the fact that female drivers have a lower risk of having an accident maybe due to the fact that they are more careful when driving. If you have understood how insurance work, you would know that this singular reason is enough for women to get much lower rates on their car insurance coverage than men.

If you are a female driver reading this and you want to save on your auto insurance policy, then you should read on because the following paragraphs will help you find out how to save more on your auto insurance policy as a woman..

The best way to find cheap auto insurance rates is to get quick vehicle insurance quotes online. Google and other search engines provide you a fantastic opportunity to do just that. All you need to do is just type a phrase like quick auto insurance quotes and results will be provided. You would find many sites on which you can do quotes comparison. Be sure to choose very reputable comparison sites.

Prospective customers can use this free tool on comparison websites and they can get multiple insurance quotes within a matter of minute with a single action. To get this multiple vehicle insurance quotes, all you need do is fill out the questionnaire provided on the site and in minutes your results will be ready.

If all these facts provided are true that women do indeed enjoy a much lower rate on car insurance than men, then women have no excuse not to take advantage of this and even explore more ways to further reduce the even low premium they pay on car insurance.

By: Chimerenka Odimba

People today are finding it harder and harder to even save just a few dollars out of their regular incomes. One of the ways people have tried to trim their budgets is by cutting out insurance costs. Insurance can be especially expensive for some people, as costs for home, life, auto and other insurance has grown to reflect the worsening economy. For those looking for any ways they can possibly keep a few more dollars in their pocket while still meeting their insurance needs, there are a few ways you can still save some money.

The best car insurance companies will also offer discounts if you have a shorter commute. In general, insurers will offer lower rates if your daily commute is less than forty miles per day, as driving less than this distance offers a lower chance of being involved in an accident. Many urban areas also set insurance rates based on distances between your home and various freeways, so be aware of the roads around where you live.

The biggest cost savings that you can get for your auto insurance policy is through increasing the deductible you pay. By increasing the deductible, you take on some extra burden for costs in case of an accident in return for a lower cost for coverage if the car is involved in a major collision. Increasing the deductible from the standard one hundred dollars to one thousand dollars can net a savings of thirty percent per year.

Keeping your driving record clear can substantially decrease your monthly auto insurance premium. How well you drive and the number of accidents and tickets you have received all change the price you are forced to fork over every month. Stay away from accidents and speeding by practicing safe, defensive driving practices and reducing your overall accident risk. Some places even offer cash incentives for those who can keep their records clean! This is a good way to get money right back into your pocket.

You can manage to get cheap car insurance by not having to pay for superfluous extras on your policycoverage. Numerous insurance firms provide features like emergency highway assistance, and such items can make your rates considerably higher each month. While lots of drivers think they require those services, they don’t necessarily take advantage of them and you should therefore think twice before signing up for them.

Following the supplied tips to choosing good auto insurance, you can ensure that you hold onto more of your money to use for other things besides funding your insurance. Having insurance doesn’t need to break your wallet. To avoid this, you just have to pay attention to what you’re getting and how much you are paying for it.

By: Alisdair Cosgrove

While an auto insurance policy is the most important possession a driver occupies, it’s astonishing how many forget to renew their policy annually. In fact, many drivers wait years before they finally decide to update the coverage on their vehicle. Don’t fall into that category – call your auto insurance agent today and discuss any amendments you want made on your auto insurance policy.

Rejuvenate Your Auto Insurance

If you’re not convinced that updating you insurance policy is in your best interest, here are some reasons to convince you otherwise:

1.	Coverage gaps. Your policy might be full of coverage loopholes, gaps in your policy that seem to show themselves at the worst times. By talking to your agent, you can avoid being a victim of gaps.
2.	Old coverage. Everything changes over time. Your auto insurance policy is no exception. Annually reviewing your terms, limits and coverage may result in you saving money on your premium. If you own an older car, chances are you don’t need as much comprehensive coverage as you currently have. Why not look into updating your coverage and possibly saving you hundreds of dollars a year?
3.	Changes in economy. In the midst of a failing economy, more and more drivers are opting to drop their car insurance altogether. Not a good idea – uninsured drivers are 10 times more likely to get into an accident. If you get uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage added to your auto insurance policy, you can be protected against the uninsured.
4.	Wrong fit. When reviewing your policy, you may realize that your current insurer is costing you too much. It may be time to consider another insurance company. Shop around for car insurance quotes by going on-line. After filling out a short form, your inbox will be flooded with a wide array of quotes from multiple insurance agents.
5.	Change in driving. Just because you bought your auto insurance policy five years ago doesn’t mean you are the same driver now. You might not even drive as much anymore. It’s in your best interest to update your insurance policy to reflect this significant change. Many insurers offer a considerable discount for low-mileage drivers.
6.	Better discounts. If your insurance company is offering new deals or discounts, don’t hesitate to ask about them. You may be able to get additional coverage on your auto insurance policy for a lower rate, depending on what kind of discount is being offered.
7.	Riders. Although adding riders to a policy can add up, they are necessary if you want to protect something in your car, such as a new stereo system. If this is the case, you should consider purchasing a rider, which is an amendment to your auto insurance policy that either adds or deletes coverage. Check with your agent about getting an car insurance quote so you have an idea about what effect a rider will have on your premium.

Stop wasting time and update your policy today! You can be confident that you’re getting the most convenient coverage at an affordable price.

By: Tom Lustina

While most people think of insurance as either being “full coverage” or “liability only” I thought it would be a good idea to lay out a basic outline of what options are available with an Arizona Auto Insurance Policy. Insurance is regulated by each state so if you’re outside of Arizona these may be different.

Liability Coverage – You have two types of liability coverage: Bodily Injury Liability and Property Damage Liability. Bodily Injury Liability pays for damages to other people you injure when you’re at-fault for an accident. It will not pay for your damages. Property Damage Liability will pay to repair the things you hit like cars, lightpoles and other people’s personal property. This is the only coverage required by the state of Arizona and the minimum required limits are $15,000 per person/$30,000 per accident of Bodily Injury Liability coverage and $10,000 for Property Damage Liability coverage.

Uninsured and Under-insured Motorist Liability Coverage – Unlike many other states, Arizona breaks these coverage options into two separate options Uninsured and Under-insured. One of the coverages would pay damages to you or your passengers if you’re hit by someone that didn’t have any Bodily Injury Liability coverage (uninsured motorist) or if they didn’t have enough Bodily Injury Liability coverage (under-insured motorist) to pay for your injuries. This coverage does NOT pay for any damages to your vehicles and is not required by Arizona law.

Medical Payments – This coverage option will pay for medical bills only regardless of fault or reason as long as it’s an auto related claim. If someone is injured getting in or out of your vehicle this could pay for medical bills they incur. In Arizona, it can also pay a death benefit if you or a passenger is killed in a covered claim.

Collision Coverage – This coverage basically pays for damage to your vehicle for any collision claim if it’s your fault or not. If you hit another car, another car hits you, or you drive into a toolbox in the middle of the road, it would be covered under your Collision coverage option and would be paid minus your deductible.

Comprehensive Coverage – This basically pays for damage to your vehicle for anything other than a collision. So, if a tree falls on your car, or it gets vandalized or stolen, it would be covered under your Comprehensive coverage option. Claims would be paid by the insurance company minus your deductible. You also have the option to purchase a waiver your deductible for glass only losses.

These are the key components that make up the basic coverage options available to you on an Arizona Auto Insurance Policy. If you’re coming from another state, remember Arizona breaks out Uninsured and Under-insured Motorist Coverage into two separate coverages and does not offer Personal Injury Protection coverage. Keep that in mind when getting quotes.

Last, this is a very simple, plain English explanation of the policy and you should always contact your agent for all coverage details and make sure you’re covered correctly.

By: Matthew Fox

Auto insurance is another name for security of your vehicle. As the name suggests auto insurance is all about insuring one’s vehicle against all kinds of threats for instance theft, accident and other related dangers. The basic types of auto insurance coverage are -

1.	Bodily injury liability, which provides coverage for bodily injury claims from the people who might get injured in an accident with your vehicle.

2.	Property damage liability covers any property damages to third parties such as another person’s car you damaged or are responsible for.

3.	Medical expenses to the policy owner and other passengers in the policy owner’s car.

4.	Uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage saves the negligent driver with or without insufficient insurance. In most states, this covers only bodily injury losses while in other cases property damage losses are also included. However it is quite important for everyone to get this coverage because it protects us from all expected as well as uninvited problems. For instance at some places an uninsured motorist caught driving with a suspended license in a car with a revoked registration goes to jail.

5.	Physical damage stands for damage to your car that can be through accident or any other means such as collision, storm etc. In this the collision coverage pays for the physical damage caused to a person’s vehicle through collision.

However prior to purchasing an auto insurance policy there are quite a few things, which should be borne in mind. For instance- shop for the best policy available, always ask for high deductibles, check the insurance of the car or any other vehicle prior to purchasing it, coverage of the car varies with its worth, the profile of the company through which you will buy the insurance and last but not the least go with a low cost auto insurance for instance at places such as Santa Clara, San Marino Mateo and Alameda counties low cost auto insurance has arrived at premium rate of $322 and $355 respectively.

Whereas the auto insurance rates are concerned the American Farm Bureau suggests that the insurance rates for a driver should be based on the risk of that the driver should be based on the risk that the driver confronts for having an accident or loss and since rural drivers in the rural areas are less prone to risks, they should not be asked to pay more for their auto insurance.

In California there is a debate over the auto insurance policy rates. While on the one hand due to the rules offered by California Department of Insurance the rates of auto insurance are expected to touch the sky, on the other hand the California Farm Bureau strongly opposes it and claims that the new rates presses rural residents to shell out more money in order to subsidize the cost for urban residents.

However nowadays auto insurance companies are troubled with excess of crime or fraud in this area. Lately in North Carolina thirteen people were arrested accused of staging motorcycle wrecks to collect insurance money. Many such cases are reported in other parts of the world. As a result the government of different countries is looking for ways and means to combat the crime situation.

By: Mansi Aggarwal

An auto insurance claim adjuster works for the insurance company with whom you purchase a policy. Some insurance companies use independent adjusters so that they get an unbiased report. When you have an accident and make a claim on your insurance, the company will send out an adjuster to access the damages and come up with an amount of money that will be needed to complete the repairs. The auto insurance claim adjuster has to contact the garages to get an estimate of what the parts and labor will cost.

When you report a claim for an accident to your auto insurance, they will contact the appropriate adjuster. The auto insurance adjuster assigned to your case will contact you to get the details on where he/she can assess the vehicle. Then you will receive a report from the insurance company regarding the assessment the auto insurance claim adjuster submits. If the damages exceed the value of the vehicle, it will be “written off”.

The amount you get on your auto insurance policy depends on the policy itself. If the auto insurance claim adjuster determines that the vehicle is written off, the insurance will pay you the book value of the vehicle. This could be more or less than what the car is worth. With some auto insurance policies, you can pay extra to have a clause included stating that if the vehicle is written off within the first two years, you get the full amount that you paid for the automobile.

There is a certain process that an auto insurance claim adjuster has to use to come up with the amount the insurance company will pay. You will usually get two quotes – one that will see the car getting repaired at a top of the line garage and another if you take a cash settlement on the claim and get the work done yourself. The auto insurance adjuster knows that many people have friends who can do the work cheaper and often take the money.

Once you decide how you want to proceed, the insurance company will issue a check. If you are paying on the vehicle, the check will be made out jointly to you and the lender. Otherwise the check comes directly to you. The job of the auto insurance adjuster is only to access the damages, Any dispute you have regarding the report made by the auto insurance claim adjuster has to be done through the insurance company. Keep this in mind because the adjuster is only an ordinary person like yourself trying to make a living.

An auto insurance claim adjuster doesn’t have an easy job.

By: Peter Crump

If you are in the market for cheap auto insurance, you are bound to be confused by the wide variety of choices available. It pays to take some time before you make a decision. It is therefore important that you consider several aspects before you take a definite decision. Once you are armed with the basics, you will be ready to go ahead and choose the perfect auto insurance plan for your needs. You can — and should — of course, seek some help. When you hear the phrase “full coverage auto insurance”, do you know what it means? This is simply a comprehensive coverage that would cover you, personally, in every aspect and possible type of insurance the company offers.

For example, coverage for medical costs may be optional with some insurance policies. But if you have a full coverage auto insurance policy, you can have your and your passengers’ medical costs covered, should you be in an accident where injuries are sustained.

A full coverage auto insurance policy also covers liability. This means if you are at fault during an accident, the coverage will enable your policy to compensate for the damages caused by you. It is always advisable to have liability coverage in your auto insurance. Although you may always claim that you had never been at fault, you can never be sure where the blame will ultimately be placed in an accident. It is always better to be on the safer side with auto insurance.

The premium to be paid and the policy period will differ based on the insurance company, your age and also your gender. The age of your vehicle also determines whether you should go for full coverage or not. Supposing yours is an old vehicle on its last legs, it is not necessarily a good decision on your part to go for full coverage, as you will end up paying a higher premium. You may end up paying more premiums than the current market value of your car. Newer cars, or any vehicle for that matter, are better served with cheap full coverage auto insurance policies. There are other comprehensive policies that can cover you in cases of vandalism or arson, as well, though they are not as commonly purchased by people.

You can always check out the various online resources available for more details on cheap full coverage auto insurance. Also, don’t be afraid to get in touch with insurance agents, as they can provide you great information on the current trends in cheap auto insurance.

By: Jennifer Bailey

You can buy car insurance even if you don’t own a vehicle. This type of coverage is known as non owner auto insurance. So why would you consider this?

When To Buy Non Owner Coverage

You may want to consider buying this type of coverage in a situation where you are living in a city and rely on public transportation most of the time but are renting or borrowing a vehicle from someone often. You want to have adequate insurance protection if an accident occurs to pay for injuries or damage to property.

What Happens After An Accident

If an accident occurs while you are behind the wheel of a borrowed or rented car, the owner’s insurance policy would be in effect. He or she would be responsible for any damages owing over the policy limits. As the driver at the time of the accident, you may be faced with legal action from the owner or the insurance company to recover the money paid out after the accident. Buying a non owner car insurance policy will protect your assets.

The Cost

In a situation where you are renting a vehicle often, it may be less expensive for you to buy your own insurance than to get coverage through the rental company each time. You also have the added assurance that you are covered for every vehicle you are driving, not just the one you have rented.

Another scenario where buying a non owner auto insurance policy may make sense is when you drive a company car for work. You will be covered under the employer’s insurance policy, but how many people would ask how much coverage the company’s insurance policy provides when they get behind the wheel of a company car.

How To A Find Non Owner Car Insurance Policy

You look for non owner car insurance in the same way as you shop for other car insurance coverage. You can look online for a company that offers this type of coverage and request a quote, or contact an independent insurance agent who can get quotes for you.

Family or friends may be able to help you find non owner car insurance coverage as well. Ask around to see if anyone knows of a company you can contact to get this type of protection.

Compare Non Owner Car Insurance Quotes Online

Once you have quotes in hand, you need to go over them very thoroughly to make sure you understand the policy provisions. Every auto insurance company will have use different language in its policies and it’s important to go over each clause so you understand exactly what you are getting.

Pay special attention to the policy’s exclusions as well. No policy covers all situations, and you don’t want to assume that you have protection only to find out after an accident that you don’t.

By: James J.

When comparing online auto insurance quotes, it’s wise to compare policies to see what each company’s “full coverage” offer includes. When auto insurance agencies mention “full coverage” this means you’ll receive full coverage within that particular company’s guidelines and policies.

If you obtain a car insurance quote online and only look at the premium rate and the statements made by the company, you might be in for a big surprise when you need to make a claim. Never blindly enter into a policy agreement merely because it is called “full coverage.” A full coverage policy does not mean the company will cover any and every thing that could possibly happen to you or your vehicle.

Every auto insurance policy has limitations and exclusions. Limitations are often based on your car maintenance habits. If you neglect your automobile or fail to meet certain requirements for mechanical maintenance (such as oil changes or brake maintenance), then the company will not cover certain types of damage. When reading a full coverage policy and when comparing car insurance quotes online, don’t only read what’s covered but also read over the company’s limitations and exclusions carefully.

Full Coverage Policies Explained

A full coverage policy will usually include the following: liability (coverage amount is dependent upon the legal requirements in your state), collision, comprehensive coverage, towing, rental reimbursement, roadside assistance, coverage for uninsured and underinsured motorist, and coverage for medical payments. The policy may also include property damage and bodily injury coverage. Though all these may be covered by two different insurance agencies, this doesn’t mean the policies are identical. Each auto insurance company is different, and these types of coverage are offered within a company’s own policy limitations and requirements.

When obtaining auto insurance quotes online for full coverage, you must factor in your driving record, the age and value of your car, your age and gender, discounts, where you live, and possibly even your credit rating. Look for quotes on policies that offer all the coverage you need within your budget. When comparing liability, buy more coverage than you feel you’ll need if possible.

Examine Policies

Before signing on the dotted line, examine the full coverage policy carefully and be sure you understand all the coverage provided as well as the agency’s limitations. Ask for an exact quote based on your personal and vehicle information, and also determine a payment plan that will work for you. There should be no unpleasant surprises!

Some online companies might provide a downloadable list of coverage types you’ll receive and a policy outline. Print these and keep them for your records in case there are discrepancies in your actual policy. You’ll find that online auto insurance quotes for full coverage are the most expensive, but full coverage also gives you the most protection for your money. Compare quotes and policies online today to save hundreds per year for this thorough coverage!

By: Chris Robertson
